Philadelphia Folk Festival Announces 40 Performers from the Greater Philadelphia Area

The Philadelphia Folk Festival is pleased to announce forty musicians from the Greater Philadelphia region who will be performing at the 62nd annual event August 14-17, 2025 at Old Pool Farm, Upper Salford Township. In addition to the 23 Main Stage and Camp Stage performers, 17 regional artists will make appearances in PFS MAC showcases and on other side stages. https://pfs.org/mac-about/ refers to the Philadelphia Folksong Society's Musical Artists Cooperative. It's a program within the Philadelphia Folksong Society that focuses on supporting and promoting musical artists in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware region. The cooperative provides opportunities for musicians to network, learn, perform, and collaborate.

 

Greater Philadelphians performing this August on the Main and side stages include:

Brittany Ann Tranbaugh, Carla Ulbrich, Charlie Miller, Charlie Rutan, Chris Kasper, Dave Fry ,Elijah Wald, Foxhound, Gather Round, Hezekiah Jones, Hinton, Bower, Jones, Ian Zolitor (Thursday Night Emcee), Jack Murra, John Flynn (Main Stage Emcee), Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise, Kyle Swartzwelder, Lili Anel, Mark Schultz & The Wayne Rangers, Mason Porter, Mike Miller Sings Again Presented by Sweet Corn, Nick Franclik, The Keystone Breakers, and Todd Chappelle

 

The PFS MAC Showcases and other presentations will include performances from:

The 62nd annual Philadelphia Folk Festival takes place August 14-17 in Upper Salford Township. The 2025 lineup of artists pays homage to the tradition’s rich heritage while embracing new and diverse talent, attendees can expect a weekend filled with stellar performances and cherished memories for all. This year’s line-up features internationally touring and Philadelphia-based performers including: John Gorka, SONiA disappear fear, Solas, David Jacobs-Strain and Bob Beach, American Patchwork Quartet, Jesse Terry, John Flynn, Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise, Vanessa Collier, The April Fools: David Buskin, Robin Batteau, Christine Lavin, John Forster, and Carla Ulbrich, and Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley, John Moreland, Allison Brown, Tim O’Brien with Jan Fabricius, Ben de la Cour, Goldpine, Sam Robbins, John McCutcheon, Reggie Harris, and Robin & Linda Williams.

 

On August 1, Philadelphia Folk Festival will preview this year’s event with an evening at Bryn Mawr Twilight Concert Series featuring performances from Larry Ahearn, Lili Anel, Cloudbelly, and Max Davey. All four performers are scheduled to play at this year’s festival and the event will offer a sneak peek of what to expect in Upper Salford Township this summer.

 

The Philadelphia Folk Festival fosters music discovery in a safe and family friendly setting with camping, food trucks, a variety of vendors and activities for all ages. Educational workshops and Dulcimer Grove (specifically designed for the youngest attendees of the festival) will offer enrichment and more enjoyment of the weekend.

 

Local author Elijah Wald will offer a presentation on his book, Dylan Goes Electric! Newport, Seeger, Dylan, and the Night that Split the Sixties, the source material for the Timothee Chalamet film, A Complete Unknown, and will be performing lesser-known Dylan songs from that era. He is also the author of The Mayor of MacDougal Street, which the Cohen Brothers used to create Inside Llewyn Davis.

 

The Philadelphia Folk Festival’s legacy includes a multi-generational audience who make returning to the farm each summer an annual event.
