Baltimore’s own high-flying funk explorers Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have announced their long-awaited return home with a two-night run at Baltimore Soundstage on Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24, 2026. The shows mark the band’s first Baltimore headlining performances since the release of their acclaimed eighth studio album Feed The Fire and promise to be a fiery kickoff to the new year for both the band and their ever-devoted fan community, The Flock.
“There’s something about playing in your hometown that makes you take stock of everything that’s happened since you were last there,” reflects frontman “Scrambled Greg” Ormont. “We’re coming in hot on the heels of our new album, national tour, and a surreal festival stop at Merriweather Post Pavilion that still has us reeling. To start 2026 with two nights in Baltimore is a dream, the table is set for an extra special year.”
Across nearly two decades, Pigeons have built a reputation as one of the most joyful and kinetic live acts in modern music. Known for their euphoric blend of funk, rock, and improvisation, the quartet — “Scrambled Greg” Ormont (vocals, guitar), Jeremy Schon (guitar, vocals), Ben Carrey (bass, vocals), and Alex Petropulos (drums, vocals) — have grown from Maryland basements to festival main stages and sold-out theaters nationwide. Their hometown appearances have always carried a special spark: equal parts reunion, ritual, and riotous dance party.
The Baltimore Soundstage announcement arrives amid Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s expansive 2025 fall tour, which has seen the band lighting up stages nationwide with unrelenting energy and creative fire. Renowned for their adventurous musicianship, fearless improvisation, and uncanny ability to transform any room into a euphoric celebration, the quartet will bring a revitalized spirit home to Charm City. Fans can expect deep cuts, wild surprises, and fresh material from Feed The Fire woven into two unforgettable nights. Night one will feature support from Midwest groove architects Houseplant, while Saturday night welcomes Baltimore’s own funk collective Uncle Kunkel’s One Gram Band.

PURCHASE FEED THE FIRE VINYL & CD
Released in October via No Coincidence Records, Feed The Fire stands as Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s most expansive and cohesive studio effort to date. The project is a radiant fusion of groove, psychedelia, and uplift that captures nearly two decades of evolution in full flight. Across twelve tracks, the band stretches its sound with fearless ambition, weaving in brassy flourishes, cosmic textures, and deep-pocket funk that has long defined their live shows. From the storm-building energy of “Calm Before The Storm” to the elastic pulse of “Twitch” and the kaleidoscopic shimmer of “Fantasy,” the album bursts with kinetic rhythm and emotional clarity, a reflection of a band still hungry to explore new sonic frontiers.
Critics have praised the project as one of the band’s defining moments. Relix celebrated the record’s first single for “mingling horns with their genre signatures, dropping notes of rock, funk and extemporized playfulness,” while Goldmine Magazine called Feed The Fire “a joyful reaffirmation of Pigeons’ ability to evolve without losing their ecstatic core — a record that moves bodies and lifts spirits in equal measure.” The album’s collaborative spirit runs deep, featuring contributions from members of Moon Taxi, Here Come The Mummies, West End Blend, and Chalk Dinosaur, each expanding the Pigeons’ sonic universe without diluting its heartbeat
Tickets for both shows will be available beginning Tuesday, October 21 at 12 PM ET through the band’s Artist Presale, which runs until Thursday, October 23 at 10 PM ET and can be accessed using the password HOME. A Local Presale will follow on Thursday, October 23 from 10 AM to 10 PM ET, giving Baltimore fans an early opportunity to secure tickets before the general public. General On-Sale begins Friday, October 24 at 10 AM ET. Tickets and VIP packages, including premium reserved or general admission options, a personal meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with the band, early venue access, and exclusive limited-edition merchandise, will be available for purchase via pigeonsplayingpingpong.com.
