Rainbow Body—the new musical collaboration featuring Taylor Goldsmith and Griff Goldsmith (Dawes), Rick Mitarotonda (Goose), Eric Krasno (Lettuce, Soulive), Ross James (Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band) and Adam MacDougall (Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Circles Around the Sun), with special appearances from Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company, The Allman Brothers Band) and Nicki Bluhm—has announced its self-titled debut album, Rainbow Body.
The album arrives digitally via Flóki Studios, with distribution by No Coincidence Records and Secretly Distribution, on Friday, October 23. A limited-edition vinyl release follows Friday, January 8, 2027. Proceeds from Rainbow Body will benefit the North Atlantic Salmon Fund, a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to Atlantic salmon and marine biodiversity.

Created in partnership with Quoia, a new alliance of industry stewards committed to protecting nature, Rainbow Body is heralding the album’s arrival with the first single, “Strange Memory,” available everywhere now. An official music video is also streaming on YouTube.
“‘Strange Memory’ takes place on a highway that doesn’t end,” says Taylor Goldsmith. “When you can’t remember what you’re running from and you can’t remember what you set out to find.”
Anchored by Taylor Goldsmith’s evocative songwriting and elevated by the chemistry of its accomplished players, Rainbow Body will celebrate the album’s arrival by making its live debut at Laguna Beach, California’s Coast Film & Music Festival on Friday, October 23. Rainbow Body began as part of Quoia’s inaugural Quoia Session, which invites artists to come to the wildest places on Earth, listen to the wisdom of the land and those living closest to it, and channel new sounds shaped by those places.
In January 2026, Taylor Goldsmith, Griff Goldsmith, Rick Mitarotonda, Eric Krasno, Ross James and Adam MacDougall gathered in Topanga Canyon to spend time together and write a record. The setting was intentional, with the surrounding landscape and environment shaping the creative process from the outset.
A month later, the session continued at Flóki Studios, a remote recording studio and independent record label located near the Arctic Circle on a converted sheep farm in the Fljót Valley on the Troll Peninsula in northern Iceland. Moving from Topanga to the isolation of northern Iceland gave the group two very different environments in which to develop the music, with each place leaving its mark on the songs and how they were written and recorded.
Together, Rainbow Body recorded the album’s eight original tracks, moving freely between psychedelic rock, Americana, soul, folk and open-ended improvisation, ultimately creating an original sound that feels both timeless and adventurous.
“Part of this project is that we hope to create awareness around certain things that people would not normally know are happening in the world,” says Eric Krasno. “That it can be kind of a backdrop for coming together on these issues and people collaborating in different ways to help the world.”
“As musicians, everyone’s focused on their pursuit and expression as artists, and that can become all-consuming,” says Rick Mitarotonda. “It’s so much work to just do that and make a living, to keep the thing moving. But to be able to be a part of this and serve something bigger, it’s an honor and something I would love to do a lot more of.”
“If this never happened again, I would be forever grateful that it did,” says Griff Goldsmith. “And if it happened another 15 times, I think I’d still be sitting here like, wow, I can’t believe this is happening. What an amazing opportunity we’ve been given.”

Quoia invites artists to come to the wildest places on Earth, listen to the land and those living closest to it, and channel new sounds shaped by those places. The sounds created together raise awareness and funds for the conservation of wild places. It is a living creative ecosystem that grows through collaboration, adapts through creativity and exists to restore harmony with the natural world.
