Tonight, celebrated drummer Nikki Glaspie returns to Late Night With Seth Meyers to begin her four-night residency behind the kit with the 8G Band Dec. 6-9. This marks Glaspie’s third in-studio appearance on the show, and she performs in support of her band The Nth Power’s new album, Reverence.

"I'm so happy to be back in studio this week with The 8G Band. What Eric Leiderman has created with these sit-ins is so cool and fun. It's an honor," Glaspie says.

Glaspie – who has toured the world and cut albums with Beyonce, Maceo Parker, Tim Reynolds and more – is among a long list of talented drummers to perform with Late Night’s house band, including Tim “Herb” Alexander (Primus), Abe Laboriel Jr (Paul McCartney), Glenn Kotche (Wilco) and Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam).

The accomplished performer and recording artist will be featured in the 2021 Modern Drummer Festival later this month, and actively tours with her bands The Nth Power, Punkadelick and KAMANI. Glaspie's talent, and explosive drumming style with The Nth Power, has garnered national praise from Relix, Okayplayer, Huffington Post, Curve, Consequence, Sirius XM and VH1.

The Berklee College of Music album burst into the national spotlight in 2006, when she began a five-year stint in Beyonce’s all-female backing band. Her credentials included artists like Chaka Kahn, Jay-Z and Kanye West and Destiny’s Child before she went on to form her own original band, The Nth Power, in 2012. The Nth Power, which features guitarist Nick Cassarino (Big Daddy Kane) and bassist Nate Edgar (John Brown’s Body), is a genre-bending trio that uses element of jazz, soul and rhythm and blues to pay testament to the healing power of music. The group independently released their sophomore full-length studio album, Reverence, in September 2021. Distributed by The Orchard, the album features some of the final studio recordings of keyboardist Kofi Burbridge’s career, who passed away in 2019, and is dedicated to his memory. Other guests on the album include Maceo Parker, Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Ivan Neville, Nick Daniels III, Courtney Smith and Amy Bellamy.

Late Night with Seth Meyers airs at 12:35am EST every weeknight on NBC.
