Colorado summer has a way of calling the pickers, dreamers, dancers, campers, and road-worn music lovers back to the river. This year, Rhythms on the Rio returns to Del Norte, Colorado, July 30 through August 2, 2026, with a stacked lineup rooted in jamgrass, Americana, roots, funk, folk, and mountain-town festival spirit.
Set along the Rio Grande in the San Luis Valley, Rhythms on the Rio has long been the kind of gathering where the music, landscape, and community all seem to lean into one another. The 2026 edition brings four days of music, camping, late-night energy, and family-friendly festival offerings, including a kids zone, yoga, and VW bus camp.
Leading this year’s lineup are Leftover Salmon, performing two sets, including a Jerry Garcia tribute set; The Infamous Stringdusters, also performing two sets; and Moontricks. The lineup also features The Brothers Comatose, Clay Street Unit, Big Something, Dom Flemons & The Traveling Wildfires, Magoo, The Fretliners, Fireside Collective, Daniel Rodriguez, Sneezy, Magnolia Boulevard, Banshee Tree, Sqwerv, Silas Herman & The Tone Unit, Natalie Brooke, A-Mac & The Height, Graham Good & The Painters, Mighty Mystic, Yope, and Melody Monroe.
The weekend kicks off with a Thursday pre-party featuring Boombox, setting the tone for a weekend that stretches from daytime river-side grooves to late-night festival moments.
For Deadheads and Colorado jamgrass fans, the Leftover Salmon Jerry Garcia tribute set should be one of the weekend’s natural highlights. Salmon’s long history with the Colorado music scene, their wide-open approach to Americana, bluegrass, Cajun, rock, and jam music, and their deep connection to the broader jam world make them a fitting anchor for a Rio Grande weekend with plenty of room to stretch out.
