Rhythms on the Rio Music Festival has announced the daily lineups and single-day tickets on sale for the 17th Annual festival, to take place in Del Norte, CO from August 2-4, 2024.

For its 17th year, Rhythms on the Rio has once again assembled a well-rounded roster of heavy-hitting artists spanning a wide range of genres, from bluegrass/jamgrass to funk, soul, rock, country, and more.

Headliners The California Honeydrops (Friday), Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country (Saturday), and Keller Williams' Grateful Grass ft. The Hillbenders (Sunday) anchor the impressive lineup of national and local musicians.

Kicking off the festival on Friday is the incredibly talented Alysha Brilla, one of the first self-produced female artists in history to receive a Juno Award nomination (Canada’s Grammy Awards).  One of the hottest new acts in Colorado, Clay Street Unit combines Southern country and folk with silky soulful vocals. ALO will bring their jam-pop to Del Norte, along with a dance party that will get the Friday festival vibes cooking. The California Honeydrops will keep the fire burning hot throughout the evening.

Rhythms on the Rio has always been known for finding up-and-coming artists before they outgrow smaller festivals (like Tyler Childers, who played Rhythms in 2017).  Several artists on the 2024 roster are currently experiencing meteoric rises and could soon be headlining much larger stages.  The Rhythms crowd is lucky enough to see Shadowgrass, The Fretliners, and Armchair Boogie on Saturday.  Then, The Lil Smokies will share their beautiful songwriting mixed with incredible bluegrass musicianship before Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country takes over the Rio with roadhouse twang and instrumental virtuosity.

Daniel Donato will follow up his Cosmic Country set with a second performance, recreating the iconic Bob Dylan "Nashville Skyline" in its entirety.  Seeing this legendary album performed by a new legend in the making will surely be a lifelong memory for all in attendance.

Rhythms on the Rio is known for throwing a fantastic celebration on a day many other festivals often "take it easy."  At Rhythms, Sunday is always a dance party.  This year is certainly no exception.  Cousin Curtiss will ensure that all are awake and ready to go with their boot-stompin' “blues at bluegrass speeds.”  The Runaway Grooms and their uniquely energetic soundscapes will keep the energy high in the afternoon sun before the Magic Beans make their much anticipated first appearance at Rhythms on the Rio.  Diggin Dirt brings their Humboldt funk, and this seven-piece has carved out a niche as a live party not to be missed.  Sunday night will go out with a bang, as Keller Williams' Grateful Grass featuring The Hillbenders closes out the festival, playing psychedelic improvisational bluegrass and "loosely interpreted Grateful Dead songs."

The festival, which takes place during the time in August known as The Days Between - nine days beginning with Jerry Garcia's birthday and ending with the anniversary of his passing - will be bookended by a celebration of the music of The Grateful Dead.  A Thursday Pre-Party with Easy Jim playing the music of The Grateful Dead is included for all who purchase a Thursday Early Entry Pass.

All 3-day festival passes to Rhythms include camping in a spacious setting, shaded by a grove of cottonwood trees, all within close walking distance to the comfortable stage and festival grounds, with a fantastic selection of food, drink, and craft vendors.  To get attendees loose and limber for dancing, YogaDurango will offer free yoga to start the day on Saturday and Sunday.  Secret Circus Society will be on hand all weekend, delighting kids and the kid in all of us with magical crowd performances.

Directly across the street from Rhythms on the Rio is the popular Del Norte River Park, offering easy access for the entire family to safely enjoy the Rio Grande River.  Attendees can cool off in a play wave, float, paddle board, fish, or just take a refreshing dip in the lovely Rio.

As always, proceeds from the non-profit festival benefit the South Fork Music Association, providing musical instruments, materials, and lessons to school music programs throughout Southern Colorado. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE SFMA: https://rhythmsontherio.com/sfma/
