Rocky Mountain Folks Festival 2026 Shares First Lineup: Ani DiFranco, Valerie June, Jesse Welles & More

36th Annual Folks Fest takes place August 7-9 in Lyons, Colorado;

The time has come once again for the fine folks at Planet Bluegrass to gather folk-y festivarians—friends and fans of songs and the stories they tell—back along the banks of the Saint Vrain River in beautiful Lyons, Colorado, for the 36th annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival. As per usual, Folks Fest isn’t just a place for the undisputed greats—though they come in droves with names like Ani DiFranco, Junior Brown, and the perennial fan favorite Steve Poltz on this year’s lineup—but also a home for rising folk and Americana stars to grow their own roots in the front range soil.

Acts like the recently GRAMMY-nominated folk-music activist Jesse Welles or the magical truth-telling tunes of also-GRAMMY-nominated Valerie June appear alongside Planet Bluegrass Ranch celebrities Big Richard, Kentucky’s native songwriting daughter S.G. Goodman, and laid-back Australian/Samoan crooner Bobby Alu. The diversity in musicians reflects the beloved festival’s attendees, with people from every different corner of life joining together in the celebration of song. As we like to say, there are a lot of folk festivals, but only one Folks Festival.

A full list of today’s artist lineup announcement for the August 7–9 festival can be found below, and be sure to keep an eye out for additional acts in the coming weeks.
