Colorado Americana songwriter, producer, and touring veteran Ryan Dart releases his new single “Dirt Road Woman” on February 20, offering a warm, roots-driven celebration of empowered women, hard-earned wisdom, and the electric pull of new love. The track is the first single from Dart’s new album, If Love Don’t Break You, (May 1, 2026).
Built on acoustic grit and Dart’s weathered, soulful vocal, “Dirt Road Woman” lives in the sweet spot between Colorado country and Southern-rooted Americana. The song captures the intoxicating honeymoon phase of a relationship that follows heartbreak, a moment when time seems to disappear and the outside world fades away.
“This song is about celebrating strong, empowered women and the people who love them,” says Dart. “It’s that feeling when you’ve been through something toxic, you’ve learned the hard lessons, and then something real shows up. You gotta ride the bad horses before you know the good ones.”
“Dirt Road Woman” features Colorado musicians, including Katie Mintle (vocals), Peyton Langford (bass), Nate Barnes (drums), Charlie Rose (mandolin/banjo), Bridget Law (fiddle), and Eric Moon (keys).
Born in Colorado and raised in rural Arkansas, Dart’s music bridges the landscapes that shaped him: the Rocky Mountains and the Ozarks. A longtime member of the Coupe Studios family, Dart has spent decades behind the scenes as a producer, engineer, tour manager, and artist manager for acclaimed acts including Elephant Revival, Dinosaur Jr., and J Mascis, while touring globally with artists such as Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Ryan Bingham, Wilco, Beck, and more.
In 2024, Dart returned to Coupe Studios as Director of Music and Media Partnerships, while continuing to write, record, and perform shows annually. His forthcoming album, If Love Don’t Break You, explores themes of love, loss, resilience, time, and healing shaped by divorce, the loss of his farm, falling in love again, and life as a single father.
“Dirt Road Woman” is available on all streaming platforms February 20.
