Oakland cosmic Americana band Ryan MacNeill & The Big Deal have released their new single, “Rivers,” now available on all streaming platforms.
On the road toward their debut album, “Rivers” showcases the band’s country backbone while stretching into a psychedelic sonic space that takes listeners beyond the everyday and into something more expansive.
Recorded at the historic Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, “Rivers” blends rich vocal harmonies, syncopated drum rhythms, droning organ swells, and driving melodic basslines, all tied together by MacNeill’s textured guitar tone and resonant storytelling.
“We’re so excited to share our single with you on the way to the release of our album,” said Ryan MacNeill, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for Ryan MacNeill & The Big Deal. “We’ve spent countless hours on this tune, which I like to think of as a kind of psychedelic country ballad for overcoming personal hardship.”
The track reflects the band’s blend of traditional storytelling, country influences, and open-ended psychedelic textures, offering another glimpse at the sound they are building toward on their forthcoming debut album.
