Today, acclaimed San Diego-based musical outfit Slightly Stoopid shares the official music video for “Shine For You,” a new collaboration with longtime friend and frequent collaborator G. Love.
Directed by Kevin Lieberman (311, Kacey Musgraves, Run The Jewels) and filmed at locations across California including Joshua Tree National Park, the video features footage of Slightly Stoopid vocalist + co-founder Kyle McDonald performing the song alongside G. Love, who is seen providing harmony vocals and contributes inspired harmonica lines to the new track. The two men are backed by gorgeous footage of California landscapes that embody the track’s emphasis on love, light, and human connection. Released on 11.14, “Shine For You” provides listeners with another preview of the band’s highly anticipated tenth studio album, due in 2026.

“Shine For You” highlights the seamless synergy between Slightly Stoopid’s eclectic West Coast sound and G. Love’s signature upbeat, funk-infused blues. The result is a warm and soulful composition that radiates positivity and reflects the enduring musical bond between the two artists.
Slightly Stoopid and G. Love’s creative partnership spans more than two decades, with previous collaborations including fan favorites such as “Mellow Mood,” “Baby I Like It,” “Hiphoppablues,” and “Everyday People.” Their latest effort continues that legacy, showcasing the effortless blend of styles and kindred musical spirit that have defined their long-standing relationship.
“Shine For You” follows the band’s recent releases “Step Into The Sun” and “The Upside Down,” featuring hip-hop legends B-Real (Cypress Hill) and Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli). These singles and more will be included on Slightly Stoopid’s forthcoming album due out in 2026. The new body of work is the group’s first full-length release since 2018’s Everyday Life, Everyday People.
