Slightly Stoopid teams up with G. Love on “Shine For You”

Forthcoming new album set for release in 2026

Today, acclaimed San Diego-based band Slightly Stoopid share their new single “Shine For You,” a collaboration with longtime friend and frequent collaborator G. Love. The uplifting track serves as an empowering ode to love, light, and human connection, offering another preview of the band’s highly anticipated tenth studio album, due in 2026.

“Shine For You” highlights the seamless synergy between Slightly Stoopid’s eclectic West Coast sound and G. Love’s signature upbeat, funk-infused blues. The result is a warm and soulful composition that radiates positivity and reflects the enduring musical bond between the two artists.

Slightly Stoopid and G. Love’s creative partnership spans more than two decades, with previous collaborations including fan favorites such as “Mellow Mood,” “Baby I Like It,” “Hiphoppablues,” and “Everyday People.” Their latest effort continues that legacy, showcasing the effortless blend of styles and kindred musical spirit that have defined their long-standing relationship.

Speaking about the collaboration, Kyle Stoopid shares: “A giant thanks out to our brother G. Love for the honor of collaborating on this track together. G. Love has been family and like an unofficial member of Slightly Stoopid for many years, and it’s always a blessing to make music with him on and off the stage. This song, ‘Shine For You’, is about the things we do for the ones we love. We had a lot of fun making the music and video, and are excited for the world to hear it..”

“Shine For You” follows the band’s recent releases “Step Into The Sun” and “The Upside Down,” featuring hip-hop legends B-Real (Cypress Hill) and Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli). These singles and more will be included on Slightly Stoopid’s forthcoming album due out in 2026. The new body of work is the group’s first full-length release since 2018’s Everyday Life, Everyday People.

Along with the new music and the wildly successful “Step Into The Sun” summer tour, Slightly Stoopid will be hosting the 11th edition of their Closer to the Sun all-inclusive concert vacation in Riviera Maya, Mexico from January 10-14, 2026. A one-of-a-kind concert experience known for its vibrant community of fans, artists, and crew, the vacation includes three shows by Slightly Stoopid with a stacked lineup of additional performers. Attendees can expect multiple shows by Dirty Heads, Pepper, The Elovaters, The Movement, HIRIE, DENM, Little Stranger, and Z-Trip.
