Acclaimed Swedish-born musician Sofia Talvik today announced the release of her transformative 9th studio album, ‘Center of the Universe’. The album blends Nordic melancholy with the Laurel Canyon sound, offering a modern folk and bluegrass fusion that takes the listener on a journey through some of life’s most pressing issues.

About ‘Center of the Universe’

Recorded in the idyllic setting of Sulegång, Sweden, the 10-track album takes on heavy themes, including the Ukraine War, American women's rights, the ongoing crisis of missing children in the U.S., and the global problem of domestic violence.

The title track, "Center of the Universe," commemorates the thousands of missing U.S. children, weaving in the traditional Hopi prayer of Tuuwanasavi, to send a message of hope and peace. The accompanying music video features images of missing children, in a poignant attempt to spread awareness and foster efforts to find them.

The Team Behind the Music

Joined by North Carolina musicians Peyton Clifford and Drake Duffer on accordion, guitar, and mandolin, and Swedish bassist Janne Manninen, Talvik has created an emotive and compelling soundscape. The album’s production took place in a historic Swedish house, providing an intimate environment to foster creativity.
