In January 2015, the band SOPHISTAFUNK will be headed back to California with additional stops in Colorado (Feb 5th in Boulder - 9pm - free show), Las Vegas, and the Jimmy John's Super Bowl Party in Tempe, AZ. They will also be performing at TV celebrity Guy Fieri's birthday party for the third consecutive year.

Last summer, SOPHISTAFUNK performed at a series of shows in England, including a headlining slot on the Barrio Loco stage at the world-famous BoomTown Fair in Winchester. This was their second trip to the UK in as many years, after they made a name for themselves at the 2013 Shambala Festival in Northamptonshire. Their sound has been well received in Bristol, London, Kent, Newcastle, and Cardiff, Wales.

With five coast-to-coast national tours under their belts since 2012, this trio from Syracuse, NY is up-and-coming on the US and International circuits. Their style blends funk-hop and live analog electronic, with a powerful sound and huge stage presence. The music is irrefutably danceable with content that brings together fans of all ages and backgrounds, especially old-school hip hop heads and young festival-goers. Simply put, these artists represent pure unbridled expression at its fullest, and have become jaw-dropping show-stoppers at venues across the world.SOPHISTAFUNK draws comparisons from Herbie Hancock to Rage Against the Machine to The Roots. In fact, Bernie Worrell even joined the band onstage for a collaboration at the Bend Fall Festival in Oregon. Their 2013 performance on the US cable TV show "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" led to a chance meeting & subsequent connection with Fieri, which has received attention from The Village Voice and Buzzfeed, among others. http://www.buzzfeed.com/verymuchso/guy-fieris-favorite-band-is-named-sophistafunk?s=mobile

"Each of us bring something unique to the table," says lyricist Jack Brown. "Adam Gold sings, beatboxes, and plays four vintage keyboards at the same time! People go crazy for his Moog synth solos. On the drums, Emanuel Washington has such pocket that makes him a one-man dance party. My lyrics and stage presence reflect a unique style, introspective yet accessible, sophisticated yet oh so funky. We pour our hearts out at every single show, no exceptions, and reciprocate the love in the room to bring people together. One thing traveling has taught us is that it doesn't matter what city - or country - we play in. The music is universal.

The band has released three studio albums - "The Sophistafunk EP" in 2009, "Twentyeleven" in 2011, and "Freedom Is" in 2013, all available worldwide. Their next release is slated for early 2015.
