The Brooklyn Monarch hosted two powerhouse bands, Squeaky Feet and Dizgo, for a night that was equal parts funk, rock, and galactic exploration on October 24, 2025 in Brooklyn, NY. Split between the two acts, the show unfolded like one long sonic journey, and proved why both groups have become standouts in the modern jam scene.

Open since 2020, The Brooklyn Monarch quickly became a fixture in the local Williamsburg music landscape. The independently owned venue blends industrial charm with top-tier acoustics to create a setting that’s both gritty and inviting.

Kicking things off, Denver-based Squeaky Feet came out swinging with tracks from their latest album, Overview Effect. The band – Colin Shore (guitar, vocals), Greg King (guitar), Brian Keller (keys, synth, sax, vocals), Jimmy Finnegan (bass, vocals), and Kevin D’Angelo (drums, percussion) – played with striking balance between technical precision and raw emotion, setting the tone for an electrifying evening.

“Common Ground,” a standout from Overview Effect, launched the show with Finnegan on vocals and prog-rock intensity. Their cover of Nirvana’s “Breed” electrified the room, blending grunge energy with their tight, modern jam style. Later, “Lucky Number” closed the set with a burst of groove, highlighted by Keller’s colorful saxophone lines. The band supported each other seamlessly, ending the song – and their set – with a bang that showed just how strong they’ve become. Each track revealed how Squeaky Feet pushes the boundaries of rock, weaving in funk and jazz through shifting textures.

After Squeaky Feet’s high-energy opener, Dizgo – Andrew Pickel (guitar, vocals), Kevin Hinnefeld (bass, keys, vocals), Justin Clark (drums), and Jake Evatt (keys, vocals) – took the stage and launched the room into orbit. With their outer-space tour theme in full swing, the band leaned into the cosmic aesthetic from start to finish.

They opened with “It’s Alright,” a funky, psychedelic jam that instantly locked the crowd into their groove. They seamlessly transitioned into “Fundamentals,” which felt like a landing in another dimension – groovy and otherworldly. At moments, Pickel’s vocals were run through effects that made him sound like an alien creature singing through a machine, adding a techno edge that elevated the entire experience.

Midway through the set came a standout moment when Squeaky Feet’s Greg King returned to the stage, guitar in hand, for a collaboration that took things to the next level. Together, King and Pickel locked into an effortless connection on “Carini” (Phish cover), trading riffs and feeding off each other’s energy. The added guitar created a rich, layered sound that gave the jam extra depth and power. When they transitioned into “Level One,” it created a seamless, jam-heavy stretch that had the crowd locked in.

Their “Intergalactic” (Beastie Boys cover) was another highlight – fun, unexpected, and right on theme with their spacey vibe. When they dropped into “Exit 59,” a brand-new track making only its second live appearance, the crowd locked in as Evatt’s synths built a jam that felt out of this world.

By the end of the night, both bands had transformed The Brooklyn Monarch into a vibrant realm of sound and color. Squeaky Feet delivered sharp, genre-blending rock, while Dizgo explored fluid, space-driven textures. Under swirling psychedelic lights and booming bass, the audience moved as one – immersed, connected, and fully present in the moment.
