With a surge of excitement and a fresh headline from Westword dubbing them “The Next Breakout Jam Band from Colorado,” progressive quartet Squeaky Feet is ready to celebrate the release of their debut album, Overview Effect, this Friday with a hometown throwdown at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom.

This show not only marks the official album release but also launches their national fall tour, bringing the band’s high-energy, genre-bending sound to stages across the country—from intimate venues to major festivals.

“We’ve poured everything we have into this record,” says guitarist and vocalist Colin Shore. “It’s the truest reflection of who we are right now—as musicians, collaborators, and individuals trying to make sense of a chaotic world.”

ABOUT THE ALBUM

Overview Effect derives its name from the phenomenon experienced by astronauts viewing Earth from space—a profound shift in awareness that underscores unity, perspective, and the interconnectedness of all things. The album thoughtfully explores themes of self-reflection, growth, and transformation, delivered through the band’s signature blend of technical precision, emotional depth, and expansive improvisation.

From the introspective groove of lead single “Common Ground”—which the band has paired with a non-partisan voter engagement campaign in collaboration with HeadCount—to soaring instrumental passages that transcend traditional song structures, Overview Effect is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

“Musically, we didn’t want to be confined to any one box,” shares guitarist Greg King. “This album covers a lot of ground—heavy sections, jazz harmony, open-ended improvisation—but it’s all in service of storytelling and connection.”
