Since 2011, Steady Legend has been entertaining audiences in Austin as well as the state of Texas. Two years after the release of their debut album in 2015, the band is preparing to release their second album “Chapter Two” in January 2017.

Lead single “Every Little Thing” is a funky pop number featuring driving horns and the sweet but powerful vocals of lead singer Deb Love. Building up with an intro that feels like a pep rally and ending with a Motown-style breakdown, the sound is a small taste of what’s to come on the upcoming record. “Every Little Thing” is set to be release on August 5th, everywhere.

“Our first album was heavier in reggae and ska,” says guitarist and band leader Mike Mancuso, thinking back on the band’s beginnings and musical evolution. “The new album will feature more funk and rock. We’re pushing into new genres but not losing sight of where we came from.”

Hailing from Austin, a city known for its musical diversity, even the band has a hard time describing their style. “I never know what to say when people ask me what kind of music we play,” says Mancuso. “We play six distinct styles that I can name off the top of my head, with influences of others, too. I generally call it ‘upbeat music’ and let listeners decide how they want to categorize it,” he continues.

The band is known to headline shows and pack it out, but has also shared the bill with acts like The Expendables, The English Beat, KP and the Boom Boom, Mama K and the Shades, Don Chani, and more.  They were voted in the top 3 best “None of the Above” bands in the 2016 Austin Music Awards.
