SusAF, the project from Hootie & the Blowfish’s Mark Bryan, has released The Great Divider (Fused Edition), available now via Stone Point Records/Vere Music.
The new edition combines the project’s three songs — “Alternate Reality,” “The Great Divider,” and “Molotov Rose” — into one continuous track, creating a more seamless and urgent listening experience while still allowing listeners to hear each song individually.
SusAF describes the project as “the aural equivalent of graffiti,” an activist-minded statement examining a world where shared truth has become harder to find, division increasingly defines the conversation, and the search for a way forward feels more urgent than ever.
The original three-song EP moves through frustration, anger and ultimately hope.
“Alternate Reality” opens the project with a sense of disconnection, reflecting on the difficulty of finding common ground when people no longer seem to agree on what is true.
The title track, “The Great Divider,” confronts division directly with the repeated call to “stop following the great divider.” The song was featured on Apple Music’s “New In Rock” playlist upon release and previously received coverage on Grateful Web.
The project closes with “Molotov Rose,” a more optimistic anthem inspired by Banksy’s 2003 Love Is In The Air mural, which depicts a masked protester throwing a bouquet of flowers rather than a weapon.
Together, the three songs move from fractured truth and political anger toward the belief that peace and common ground are still worth pursuing.
The project has also drawn attention from Americana Highways, Charleston City Paper, Charleston Live Music and Feedback Baby Media, while both “The Great Divider” and “Molotov Rose” landed on Apple Music’s “New In Rock” playlist upon release.
Further reflecting the project’s focus on activism and social change, Bryan recently performed at a rally supporting U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Annie Andrews.
SusAF is also continuing to work on new music, with more to come.
