DENVER, CO – November 13, 2025 — The California Honeydrops have announced their return to the Front Range with a special performance at Mission Ballroom (4242 Wynkoop St, Denver, CO 80216) on Friday, March 20, 2026. Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 14 at 10AM MT via AXS.com.
As Rolling Stone noted, “The California Honeydrops…evoke the greasy rumble of Booker T and channel the spiritual ecstasy of Sly and the Family Stone.” Formed in the subway systems of Oakland, this retro-soul powerhouse has grown into an international festival favorite, captivating audiences at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Outside Lands, Monterey Jazz, and Lightning In A Bottle. They’ve shared the stage with legends including B.B. King, Dr. John, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, and Allen Toussaint.
Fronted by the charismatic Lech Wierzynski and percussionist Benjamin Malament, the band features Yanos “Johnny Bones” Lustig (saxophone), Lorenzo Loera (keyboards/guitar), Beaumont Beaullieu (drums), and Miles Blackwell (bass), with frequent collaborators Oliver Tuttle (trombone), Leon Cotter (saxophone/clarinet), and Miles Lyons (trombone/sousaphone). Every Honeydrops performance is a spontaneous, high-energy celebration of rhythm and soul — the group famously plays without setlists, ensuring that no two nights are ever the same.
Offstage, The Honeydrops’ music has surpassed 200 million streams worldwide and appeared in hit TV shows including Dead To Me, Alaska Daily, and Black-ish. Their latest album, Redwood Highway, released August 8, 2025, continues their tradition of mixing classic soul, R&B, funk, and New Orleans jazz with California sunshine.
