Town Mountain recently released Live From Drop of Sun tomorrow via New West Records. The 4-song EP was recorded at Drop of Sun Studios in Asheville, NC and follows the band’s Dance Me Down Easy: The Woodstock Sessions EP, as well as their 2022 New West Records debut Lines in the Levee. Met with critical acclaim, Lines in the Levee was named one of the “15 Best Americana Albums of the Year” by PopMatters and one of “The Best Musical Moments of 2022” by The Bluegrass Situation. In their 4 out of 5 star review, American Songwriter said “Town Mountain scales new heights with a down-home delight” while Bandcamp called it “…an impressive statement of purpose and artistic ambition from a band on a growth spurt.”

After two decades and just over 1,500 shows together, Town Mountain stepped away from touring late last month. On the heels of their final performances, the band’s Phil Barker said, “Town Mountain has always been musically evolving and exploring from the very beginning, with each new album and each new member bringing a host of new sounds and influences to the group. We felt like it was important to give fans a taste of where we ended up with this most recent lineup. Being a live recording, this session definitely captures the energy and emotion, the ‘fire and drive’ of the band’s music.”
