Phil Lesh Celebration Returns to The Capitol Theatre
Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh will return to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, for a four-night run from March 12–15, marking what would have been Phil Lesh’s 86th birthday weekend. Hosted by Grahame Lesh & Friends, the annual gathering honors the enduring legacy of one of the Grateful Dead’s most visionary musical architects while continuing a tradition rooted in community, generosity, and musical exploration.
Following a deeply moving inaugural celebration last March, which established Unbroken Chain as a new annual tradition at The Cap, this year’s run expands the spirit even further. The Capitol Theatre has long served as a second home for Phil Lesh and his family, particularly over the past 13 years, making it a fitting setting for a tribute that blends remembrance with forward motion.
The 2026 edition brings together an extraordinary roster of musicians drawn from across Phil Lesh’s musical universe. The lineups feature longtime collaborators, former Phil & Friends bandmates from multiple eras, close friends, and a new generation of artists who, while never sharing the stage with Phil himself, continue to carry his musical ideals into the future. The result is a living, breathing celebration of the music’s past, present, and unfolding future.
Beyond the music, Unbroken Chain remains firmly grounded in philanthropy. Last year’s celebration raised more than $250,000 for charitable causes, and this year’s shows will once again benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides financial assistance to musicians and music industry professionals facing illness, disability, or other hardships.
