4-Day Gathering is Set for February 19-22, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, WA
One of the West Coast’s most beloved acoustic music gatherings is gearing up for another winter takeover. Wintergrass returns to the Hyatt Regency Bellevue from February 19–22, 2026, inviting musicians and fans alike to four days of discovery, collaboration, and deep-rooted joy under this year’s guiding theme: Rad Trad.
Now more than three decades into its run, Wintergrass has earned its reputation as a true “discovery festival”—a place where tradition isn’t frozen in time but actively reshaped. Set within the walkable comfort of downtown Bellevue, the festival transforms the Hyatt Regency into a multi-stage, round-the-clock haven filled with concerts, workshops, jam sessions, instrument exhibits, and spontaneous musical moments around every corner.
The Rad Trad theme for 2026 embraces the idea that tradition thrives when it evolves. From bluegrass and old-time to Scandinavian folk, country, Celtic, and beyond, Wintergrass continues to spotlight artists who honor the past while pushing its boundaries forward.
That spirit is reflected throughout the 2026 lineup, which brings together respected torchbearers and bold innovators. Highlights include Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass, Woody Platt & The Bluegrass Gentlemen, Melissa Carper, New Dangerfield, Mr. Sun, John Reischman & The Jaybirds, and Swedish roots pioneers Väsen, among many others.
“Tradition is good—it gives us a place to hang our hats,” says Wintergrass Executive and Artistic Director Patrice O’Neil. “But it’s an ever-evolving, slippery thing. We like to think this lineup offers both comfort and feel-your-way-in-the-dark discovery moments. Rad Trad means being open to radical interpretations of just exactly how to balance old and new.”
Wintergrass has long been cherished for its fully immersive experience. Youth education programs introduce the next generation to their first chords, while adult workshops—ranging from free sessions to in-depth intensives—allow players of all levels to sharpen their craft. Between sets, attendees can explore one of the most impressive instrument exhibitions anywhere, featuring handcrafted instruments, artisan gear, and tools designed to inspire.
From late-night jams and hallway harmonies to intimate performances and hands-on learning, Wintergrass remains a rare space where artistry, authenticity, and connection come first. Whether you’re a longtime attendee or a first-time visitor, the 2026 gathering promises four days of inspiration, discovery, and shared joy through music.
