Christian McBride is an eight-time GRAMMY Award winning bassist, composer, and bandleader. McBride is the Artistic Director of the historic Newport Jazz Festival, New Jersey Performing Arts center (NJPAC) and the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Christian is also a respected educator and advocate as the Artistic Director of Jazz House KiDS, and the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Summer Sessions.

Portland-based troubadour Tobias Berblinger presents the vinyl reissue of his 2018 album The Luckiest Hippie Alive, releasing on October 6th, 2022 via Ten Dollar Recording Co.. Berblinger will play a release show that same day, at the Laurelthirst Public House in Portland. The vinyl is on sale through the label's website and Bandcamp.

Crugie Riccio, of the ‘90s Hoboken, NJ power trio (later quartet) Cycomotogoat, and Bobby Lurie (AKA Blurry), a veteran drummer who’s played with jazz greats Buddy Collette and Dewey Redman, have formed the songwriting and recording duo Super User Friendly. They have released their debut double LP Señor Gato on Sniff These Records.

Born out of a day’s writing with Kimmie Rhodes and Mindy Smith, ‘Walk You To Heaven’ is a beautiful and comforting goodbye to a loved one. It serves as the closing track on the upcoming album and showcases Beth Nielsen Chapman’s talent of conveying difficult emotions in a beautiful melody. ‘We were talking about the depth and beauty of the songs written by John Prine and his body of work and how exquisitely simple he could be while also bringing us to such a rich place with his lyrics,’ says Beth.

Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith have announced news of a special deluxe box set release of The Perfect Vision, the triptych of acclaimed albums that encompasses The Peyote Dance, Mummer Love and Peradam. Today, The Headhunters share "Rocking At The Mole House" (listen/share), the first single from the legendary jazz-funk quintet's forthcoming album, Speakers In The House, out November 4 on Ropeadope Records. Opening with a New Orleans press roll beat, which nods to the home of four of the five current band members, it quickly transitions to the signature funk synths and alto sax lines that the band has been revered for going on nearly 50 years.
