New England’s very own Blue Light Bandits have released their highly anticipated sophomore LP Honestly Glad It Happened on all DSPs today. An eclectic mix across genres and styles, from bluesy accents in “Everyday Is A Holiday” to ‘70s retro vibes in “Without You,” Honestly Glad It Happened is, in many ways, an ode to love: love for significant others, for friends or even for music itself.

Multi-instrumentalist Hilary Scott (with one ‘L’) has opened for Tanya Tucker, Chuck Berry, and Little Feat (joining them on stage for “Dixie Chicken”) and has also recorded with Bonnie Raitt’s musicians. This week, rogue folk duo Adrian + Meredith share the music video for “Bad For Business,” the title track from the couple’s sophomore LP, due for release on August 20. The single and accompanying video, which was filmed using a traditional 19th century Crankie Theatre Box, are available for preview via BTRtoday before their DSP release on Friday.

Nic Clark had a fairly unconventional childhood, which is perhaps one reason why his first album, Love Your Life / Songs for the Whole Family, came out youth-centric.  It wasn’t that he wasn’t supported— in fact, his mom got him the certificate that allowed him to play in bars at the tender age of twelve.  It was the school thing.  His school system in the Denver area had a truancy court, and he set up semi-permanent residency there around the 7th grade.
