Backbeat Foundation began its Backbeat Jazzfest Series in 2006, crossing our fingers and hoping that the music lovers who annually descend upon our city would not let Hurricane Katrina silence the music, passion and kinetic energy of the night.  The fans did not disappoint and now 7 years later we continue to celebrate the MUSIC.

The Infamous Stringdusters announce the release of their latest studio album, Silver Sky, set for national release on March 13th. The album marks a period of massive change and growth within the band, as well as explosive growth to audiences around the country. Simon Green, a UK native, is a pioneer and mastermind of the downtempo/trip hop sound that is Bonobo. Usually accompanied with a live band, Green holds his ground gracefully above the bass.

Furthur has just announced plans for their 2012 summer tour, kicking off July 5th at McCoy Stadium Pawtucket, RI. Other stops on tour will include Philly, Chicago, Atlanta, GA, Columbia, MD, two nights in Coney Island at MCU Stadium and ending up in July 18th in at Meadowbrook Music Festival, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. 

Other stops on tour include: Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua, NY, Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, NC, and the Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center in Bethel, NY.

The 16th Annual Suwannee Springfest is kicks off in less than one month and today, promoters have released the daily stage and performance schedule. With more than 30 artists performing on 6 stages, the weekend promises nearly round-the-clock music from some of the finest string players around.
