It was sooooo good to hear live music again! Big Bad Voodoo Daddy brought their dance-inducing swing revival sound to Ventura's hometown audience for three nights, August 17-19th. The shows were part of the Rubicon Goes Retro drive-in concert series. The summer concerts, which continue through September, feature the latest fad in live music, concerts in your car.

Guitarist John Lee Shannon's Tompkins Square debut, In & Of, out October 2nd. Recorded at Panoramic House in Stinson Beach CA, the album was intended as a collaboration with late guitarist and producer Neal Casal, who passed away a year ago this week (August 26, 2019).

Canadian Country and Western star Colter Wall just dropped “High & Mighty,” the final single from his upcoming, self-produced album Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs before its release on August 28th. “‘High & Mighty’ is a Saskatchewan saddle bronc song written by Lewis Martin Pederson III,” says Wall. “LMP hails from around Abbey, Saskatchewan, not far from where I grew up. He’s known for rodeoing, his poetry, and in the ’70s he put out three great records—that I know of.
