As part of New Jersey’s expansive North 2 Shore festival, jam-band stalwarts moe. descended upon the Count Basie Center’s Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre in Red Bank, N.J., on Saturday night, fresh off festival appearances at Northlands and All Good.

The Pickin’ On Series, known for its bluegrass interpretations of prominent artists and a beloved tradition at CMH Records for over 30 years and 300 albums, has released its latest installment: Pickin’ On Creedence Clearwater Revival: Bluegrass Revival. This album, out on digital and CD today, June 20, marks the first time bluegrass quartet Iron Horse put their fresh and unique bluegrass spin on the timeless songs of Creedence Clearwater Revival, one of the most influential bands of the 1960s.

The musical legacy of the late, great Gregg Allman continues with today's release of The Gregg Allman Band – One Night In DC, May 15, 1984, a full-length concert recording via the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s posthumous label, Sawrite Records.

James McMurtry released The Black Dog and the Wandering Boy via New West Records. The 10-song collection was co-produced by McMurtry & Don Dixon (R.E.M., The Smithereens) and is his first album in four years. The Black Dog and the Wandering Boy features appearances by Sarah Jarosz, Charlie Sexton, pat mAcdonald, Bonnie Whitmore, Bukka Allen, and more alongside his trusted backing band—BettySoo on accordion & backing vocals, Cornbread on bass, Tim Holt on guitar, and Daren Hess on drums.

On Friday, June 20, Denver’s own indie-jam quartet Sqwerv headlined Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, supported by Casey Russell (of The Magic Beans) and the DJ Williams Band. Doors opened at 7 PM for the two-set evening, with Sqwerv taking the stage to a eager bunch for the band’s blend of psychedelic rock, funk grooves, and expansive improvisation.

All Good Now Day Two began without a hitch, despite the threat of inclement weather. While rain did fall in the afternoon, it was far less than predicted, allowing the bands to relax and focus on the music. Tonight’s lineup featured inspired performances by both Goose and Lawrence, among other jam-friendly acts.
