Stony Plain Records announces an October 22 release date for Pinky’s Blues, the new album from award-winning blues guitarist/singer Sue Foley. Featuring several Sue Foley originals, as well as songs from some of her favorite blues and roots artists, Pinky’s Blues was recorded at Fire Station Studios in San Marcos, Texas. Joining Sue Foley (guitar, vocals) for the recording sessions were Jon Penner (bass), Chris “Whipper” Layton (drums) and Mike Flanigin (Hammond B3 organ), who also produced the album.

Grounded by the pandemic, it had been a long time since I took to the air when I departed out of Philly for Labor Day weekend. Destination? Atlanta. Reason? A homecoming/reunion concert featuring Atlanta sons, brothers Chris and Rich Robinson and their band, the Black Crowes. To be honest, I had some reservations about my plans – the Delta variant, the usual fatigue of the work week, and the nagging little existential questions I had started to ask during the long, dark COVID winter - Will live music ever come back? Will I be too old and jaded for rock-n-roll if it does?

In the decade since her debut album, Spell of the Light Pink Pearl, Laura Mihalka has been busy. She played Cello with and joined the board of the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra (CHICO); accompanied artists such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros front man Alex Ebert, Kenny Loggins, and Jennifer Terran; worked on countless indie surfer films and commercials with composer Todd Hannigan; and raised her two grown daughters--one who plays cello at Cal Poly SLO and the other who is a music major at Cal Arts.

Based on the songwriting team of drummer and producer Joey Peters; guitarist, singer/songwriter and producer Rich McCulley, and bassist, singer/songwriter and producer Ted Russell Kamp, Stash has been writing, recording and singing songs about life and love, striving and surviving, yearning and learning, and pain and cheating.  All three met while living in Los Angeles where they had all moved to better hone their craft. “It’s where we could take our careers as far as we possibly could,” states McCulley.

This Saturday, the Boch Center will become the first performing arts center in Boston to offer on-site rapid COVID-19 tests to any patron attending that evening’s performances at the Wang and Shubert Theatres. Guests can be tested starting at 6:45 PM Saturday in the Wang Theatre reception area located directly to the right of the main theatre entrance. There is a $30 charge per test for guests who want to take part in the program. Results will be available in 15-30 minutes.

Iconic rock group The Allman Brothers Band, in partnership with NFT platform Proof of Art (PoA) and MINT Talent Group’s NFT gallery MINT Studios, is set to release the first of a three-piece NFT (non-fungible token) series & collection entitled Story of the Peach, leading up to the 50th Anniversary celebration of the band’s 1972 platinum album Eat A Peach.
