Foley’s much-anticipated album drops on Stony Plain Records Friday, March 29th. The two current radio singles, Elizabeth Cotten’s “Oh Babe It Ain’t No Lie” and “Maybelle’s Guitar,” Sue’s original homage to country music matriarch Maybelle Carter, give a glimpse into the depth and variety of the song and style selections.

Fans around the world know Sue Foley as an internationally acclaimed, highly decorated electric blues guitarist; but for those who think that’s the sum total of her musical identity, her upcoming ONE GUITAR WOMAN album will smash that pigeonhole to flying shards of kindling. Sue is a complete musician, with an astute and soulful relationship to the many styles of music that have emanated from a guitar over the past century.

Sue Foley’s new acoustic solo album, ONE GUITAR WOMAN is a moving tribute to the female pioneers of guitar, the women whose music and lives delivered the inspiration and paved the way for those that followed. Sue honors artists spanning many decades and a whole spectrum of styles. She writes in her liner notes, “They were massively talented, and they all possessed courage and vision which transformed both their cultures and the story of the guitar.”

Sue Foley breaks out with her first electric live album, Sue Foley Live in Austin, Vol. 1, on Guitar Woman Records. Drawing on the inspiration from her early heroes, Foley branches out on this new release and delivers some hard-hitting blues rock tracks. It’s real and it’s tough as nails. This is Sue at the top of her game. It’s a set of deeply rockin’ blues recorded at the legendary Austin, Texas nightspot, The Continental Club.

There’s an unmistakable magic that comes with — not only being in the room with live music — but live music captured live-off-the-floor and forever archived in album form. Now such experience is on the horizon with multi-award-winning powerhouse blues guitarist and singer Sue Foley and the upcoming show recording this September 8th at the El Mocambo.

The Renasant Convention Center was packed with blues musicians, fans, and music-world luminaries on May 5th, anxious to see who would be the winners at the 43rd Annual Blues Music Awards. Besides awarding honors in 25 categories, the BMAs, as is its tradition, featured performances from many nominees, with the gala ending in a jubilant all-star jam.
 

Pinky’s Blues, the new Stony Plain Records album from award-winning blues guitarist/singer Sue Foley, scored a trifecta of nominations at the recently announced nominees from the Blues Foundation for the 43rd Blues Music Awards. Foley garnered nominations for “Album of the Year,” “Traditional Blues Album,” and “Traditional Blues Female Artist.”

Stony Plain Records announces an October 22 release date for Pinky’s Blues, the new album from award-winning blues guitarist/singer Sue Foley. Featuring several Sue Foley originals, as well as songs from some of her favorite blues and roots artists, Pinky’s Blues was recorded at Fire Station Studios in San Marcos, Texas. Joining Sue Foley (guitar, vocals) for the recording sessions were Jon Penner (bass), Chris “Whipper” Layton (drums) and Mike Flanigin (Hammond B3 organ), who also produced the album.
