Tulsa guitarist, composer, and producer, Chris Combs, is set to release “Roche Blave: Large Ensemble Works Recorded Live in Switzerland” through the nonprofit Horton Records label April 30. Combs, known for his improvisational blend of jazz, hip-hop, and experimental elements in his work with Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey (JFJO) and his own band, COMBSY, was commissioned to write the music in 2012 by Jazzwerkstatt Bern, an international jazz festival based in Bern, Switzerland.

Out May 21, 2021 on Ditty Boom Records (distribution and promotion by Free Dirt Service Co.), Happy Again marks a new chapter for the group by featuring eleven all-original songs penned by founding member Kris Truelsen. There’s no dancing around it: this album is about his divorce.

The City of Atlanta’s Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs is presenting a free, eighteen-episode virtual jazz series, called In the Tradition, which will feature jazz artists interviewed by local Atlanta jazz and art leaders. The Brother Brothers are sharing the last single before the release of their sophomore album now with “Circles”.
