Billy Strings plays hard and he lives hard, picking so fast and intensely that he’s known to break multiple strings per song, and basing the songs he writes on the hard lives he grew up around in the abandoned rural communities of America. His new album, Turmoil & Tinfoil, taps into a deep vein of psychedelia in Americana, referencing everything from the Dead to Sturgill Simpson, but all underlaid by Billy’s undeniable virtuosity and his knowledge of the roots of American music.

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood have announced ten shows in September 2018. They're added to a summer tour that already includes 32 performances across the U.S. The ten additional September dates occur primarily in the South, including The Joy Theater in New Orleans, White Oak Music Hall in Houston, and Scoot Inn in Austin, as well as, two West Coast dates at The Marquee Theatre in Tempe and House of Blues in Anaheim. Tickets go on-sale Friday, June 15 at 10am local.

Three bohemian bands and a world-famous clown came together June 2 at the UC Theatre in Berkeley, California, for a benefit for the Seva Foundation, a global health organization with a core vision of “A world free of blindness.” Emceed by Seva co-founder Wavy Gravy, who remains on its board of directors, Rising Appalachia, Dead Winter Carpenters, and The Sam Chase & the Untraditional marked Seva’s 40th anniversary by visibly invigorating the swaying, dancing crowd.

Kicking off their “Stay Human” tour,  Michael Franti & Spearhead had a soul shining performance at Red Rocks Amphitheater on June 1st.   The evening started off with Franti leading a yoga jam session at Red Rocks. Taking in all the beautiful views of Colorado, this put out some great vibes for the beautiful Colorado night.
