The 37th annual Lowell Folk Festival is showcasing local visual artists, craft makers, and cultural organizations in the Experience Lowell Arts Market, this July 26-28, along with the dozens of musical acts who will gather in the Mill City this last weekend of July.
 

Award-winning alt-folk-pop singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Rachael Sage has released her new full-length studio album, Another Side (MPress Records/ILS/Virgin). Another Side is a reimagined companion acoustic album to Sage's critically acclaimed record, The Other Side. The entirely stripped-down instrumentation places Sage's intimate vocals front and center, resulting in lush versions of her most carefully crafted, exquisitely realized work yet.

“Not In a Million Years” is the new single from the allstar project led by singer/songwriter/keyboardist Doug Kistner. On this track trumpeter Lee Loughnane of Chicago adds his iconic horn sound to this new Studio D’Lux melodic song. Jon Herington of Steely Dan plays a beautifully constructed guitar solo. On drums is the famed rock drummer Liberty Devitto, supplying the groove.

The 29th annual International Festival of Arts & Ideas (IFAI), recently featured in the New York Times, is excited to announce its summer line-up to take festival-goers on an unforgettable journey from tonight through June 29.

“We are excited to offer more than 150 events this year - 85 percent of which are free to the public - which include a curated series of plays, films, exhibitions, food events, tours, talks and world-class musicians,” said Shelley Quiala, Executive Director of IFAI.

Today, multi-platinum singer-songwriter and mental health pioneer Jewel announced her new EP, The Portal: A Meditative Journey, the musical extension of her immersive art experience The Portal: An Art Experience by Jewel, which is now open to the public through July 28 at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. The Portal: A Meditative Journey is due out July 12 and will bring the songs and soundscapes featured throughout the exhibit to listeners all over the world.
