The Warren Haynes Band filled the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco on Saturday night for two sets of high-energy blues, soul and jazz. Haynes is touring in support of his 2024 Million Voices Whisper, his first solo album in almost a decade.

Spring is upon us, and the world is emerging from its winter sleep. Nearly ten years ago, Despina Peters and Cassie Lynn Wright formed Fox Crossing Stringband as an all‑female four‑piece bluegrass ensemble. Recently, the band has undergone a rebirth—expanding into a five‑piece lineup with three new members. While retaining its signature female perspective, Fox Crossing now presents a stronger, more polished sound, clearly poised for the next level.

Tenor saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer Hillai Govreen will release her bold new recording Every Other Now on June 20, 2025 via Fresh Sound’s New Talent imprint. Written in close partnership with bassist-composer Ben Meigners, the nine-track album bottles the electricity of Govreen’s live sets while unveiling a fresh palette of original music shaped by two rhythm sections, twin pianists, and a cohort of revered New York improvisers.

Emerging from the deep musical soil of Western North Carolina, the Asheville Mountain Boys step onto the national stage today with their spirited debut studio single, “Rollin’ On.” Rooted in Asheville’s storied bluegrass heritage yet bursting with modern energy, the track embodies the band’s mission: to honor the pioneers of mountain music while propelling its raw drive and authenticity into a new era.

Omnivore Recordings and Seeker Music will release an expanded edition of GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Christopher Cross’s iconic self-titled debut album on Digital, with the CD and double-Vinyl arriving June 20. The new edition features never-before-heard material for the first time ever, including previously unreleased demos and bonus tracks recorded during the album’s sessions.

Indie singer/songwriter Trevor Sensor teases his new album A Few Tears of Eros with the bluesy rocker “The Farm” out today on High Black Desert Records. The single and accompanying video premiered earlier this week on  Under The Radar: “...his reedy Dylan-esque croon… bar-burning guitar solo… draws out all of the ambient tension, fury and frustration churning away in the track, fully letting loose in a climatic storm of unbridled emotion.”
