Country music singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley has been added to the list of artists taking part in the fifth annual Record Store Day on April 21 with a special acoustic performance at independent record store Easy Street Records’ Queen Anne location in downtown Seattle, WA at 1:00P PT.    “Record Store Day is such a great event that has hardly had any attention in country music,” said Bentley. “Some of the coolest exclusive product comes out on this day at indy retailers, and I wanted country fans to be able to get in on the action.

Before attending a Shpongle show, one has to prepare themselves for a soul searching journey. This is not the typical concert, nor is it a typical DJ rave type event. It is a hybrid of both, with a unique ability to assist the viewer to transcend to many different places.

The Leftover Salmon bus pulled out of Boulder yesterday evening and headed to Kansas. Vince reported this morning from the road with this:“Well, the bus is cold this morning. I'm reading a book on contemplation by Thomas Merton and Drew is reading Bluebeard, Kurt Vonnegut's last book. Just saw a hill! We are fired up to be doing our first long tour in 8 years. This is gonna be fun.

Ukulele players from around the world will be coming to Hawaii to participate in an ukulele ensemble led by Jake Shimabukuro. Go For Da Record...Hana Hou! will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, HI. They will assemble the greatest possible number of ukulele players in a 2nd attempt to break a Guinness World Record.

The band Dead Sara released their self-titled album on April 10th. Based in Los Angeles, the female duo-fronted band weaves together a stiff, punk attitude with a grungy rock sound. Their sound sometimes reminds me of a heavier Hole, what with Emily Armstrong's edgy vocals mixing with the solid rhythm lines provided by guitarist Siouxsie Medley. Might I take a moment here to comment on the guitarists name?
