On Tuesday, October 9th, 2012, Jimmy Tebeau, bassist for the Grateful Dead tribute band The Schwag and most recently JGB, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for the crime of “maintaining drug-involved premises” on his 350-acre farm in a rural county in Missouri. The government closed down the farm, which was known as Camp Zoe and home to the music festival Schwagstock
ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL has now confirmed it will hold the 15th annual edition of its gargantuan event over two three-day weekends March 15, 16 & 17 and March 22, 23 and 24, 2013 in Miami, FL. This marks the first time ever for a major electronic dance music (EDM) festival to do so anywhere.

This weekend, I was one of the luckiest people in the world. After Labor Day we all start to feel it. This is the time when some of us head back to school, and this is the time when some of us start packing away our wonderful toys of summer. We say goodbye to our wonderful wilderness festival dance companions. The end of summer draws near. Festavarians, especially us in the Midwest, know that our times together are going in a new direction.
Treasure Island is a weird place. Named after the Robert Louis Stevenson book, Treasure Island was constructed (yes, constructed) in the 1930s as an airport. When that idea was scrapped, it was converted into a location to hold California’s world’s fair in 1939-1940. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, the island was converted into a full naval base. From then on the island was rarely used, sitting as a reminder of World War II to the many commuters crossing the Bay Bridge. In 2005 the navy sold the island back to the city of San Francisco, prompting a repurposing of the grounds.
Winner of four Blues Music Awards and a Grammy Award for “Best Blues Album” the Tedeschi Trucks Band will headline the inaugural Sunshine Blues Festival in Florida, playing three dates in the state.
