The 2nd annual Festy Experience will take place October 7th - 9th, 2011 at the Concert Grounds at Devils Backbone in Nelson County, VA.

I am nobody special, I come from a nobody special family in a nobody special kind of town.  However, when I spent Independence Day 2011 at Electric Forest Festival, I felt special.  Suddenly I was from the String Cheese Incident’s family and I lived in the Sherwood Forest!

Ticket sales are underway for the 6^th annual YarmonyGrass festival set to take place on the Colorado River from August 5^th-7^th. Clouds and a breeze. That’s all it took. Last night when I lay down I was sure that the heat would never break. Why should it? There wasn’t a cloud in the sky at 2AM and yet the heat hadn’t let lost on its grip of the weekend. The hope of a quick temperature change had no meteorological phenomenon left to hold onto.

I just stopped sweating. Never mind that the mercury boiled its way well beyond 100 degrees for the better part of the afternoon. Never mind that the humidity made me sweat through the same shirt over and over no matter how many times I hung it to dry. Never mind that I should be over hydrated, but have sweated out as much as I have taken in. I stopped sweating. Nevertheless, I’m getting ahead of myself.

Is there a festival with a cooler name than Gathering of the Vibes? Immediately all festivals with the word festival or fest are eliminated from the name competition- I hope I don’t have to tell you why. Bonnaroo? Pretty cool, but the words not even in the lexicon of those pretentious wordies who use the word lexicon often. No, all festivals should aspire to be a gathering.
