Erica Glyn has had quite a year since the release of her 2012 full-length effort, Static. She’s received praise and awe for her self-produced and released work. Static graced a few “Best of 2012” lists, her songs landed on radio in far off corners of the world, and she has already dropped four stunningly unique videos for singles off the album.

Over the years, many great bands have played the stage at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. And many of them have played in Fayetteville year after year. One of those bands is Elephant Revival. If you haven’t seen this band before, just go. I promise you won’t regret it. In the short time I’ve been listening to Elephant Revival, they’ve become one of my top 5 bands.

Three Roads Home, the new album from Halle & The Jilt is in stores today.  Halle will be streaming the entire album on her website all week.  The band will also be celebrating the release with a performance at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC at 7pm.  Halle has been on tour for the past two weeks in support of the release and will wrap up this month long tour in Chicago on April 20.  All remaining dates are listed below.

Due to increased demand, the International Jazz Day event Louis Armstrong at Freedomland: Never Before Heard Recordings of an American Icon, a Listening Session & Lecture on April 30th has been relocated to the Langston Hughes Community Library and Cultural Center located at 10001 Northern Boulevard, Corona, NY 11368. The program presented by the Louis Armstrong House Museum and the Jazz Journalists Association was originally to be held at the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Corona.

The Capitol Theatre has set aside its very best seats for a charitable program to send area schoolteachers to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland for a week of intensive curriculum training. Concertgoers can bid on the coveted Presidential Box—four seats directly overlooking the stage—for most events at the historic Theatre, including recent performances by B.B. King, The Black Crowes, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Drive-By Truckers, Phish's Trey Anastasio, and Furthur's 9-show sold-out run kicking off this week.

Out of the resurging Bluegrass Music movement one of the most seasoned vets around is Jeff Austin. The mandolin-man of Yonder Mountain String Band built his following beside his band-mates based upon a loyal fanbase and always keeping it interesting for them. Yonder lives for their fans, and have made their mark in the community.
