Jam rock heavy hitters Spafford returned to the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY for this first time in almost three years last Friday, January 20, 2023. They brought their new keyboardist Cory Schechtman, from the New Motif, a slate of thick grooves with deep improvisation, and a pair of vibrant covers along for the occasion. Escaper, the jamtronica inspired quartet from Brooklyn, NY, provided their support.

Featuring performances by Brooklyn-based bhangra fusion group Red Baraat and tropical futurism band Combo Chimbita, along with a DJ set by Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan & Georgia Hubley, the fundraiser will support all of New York Public Radio’s brands, including WNYC, WQXR, Gothamist and WNYC Studios.

The Denver, Co based funk and soul ensemble The Motet brought a fiery dance party to the jam friendly Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY last Friday night as part of their Don't Keep On Stoppin' tour. They were accompanied by percussionist Mike Dillon, who is a veteran of the jam rock scene. Currently, the band is focused on instrumental sounds and reconnecting with their jazz improvisational roots.

The Greyboy Allstars returned to the Brooklyn Bowl last Friday night, wrapping up a stellar two night run at the storied venue in Brooklyn, NY's Williamsburg neighborhood. They are in the middle of the 2022 Get a Job Tour to promote their brand new album, Get a Job: Music from the Original Broadcast Series Soul Dream. This San Diego, Ca based squad dynamically elevated the Get a Job tunes as well as originals with a classy performance.

Last Friday night, Twiddle closed out a fiery one-two punch at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY, building off of the prior night’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities, as well as the birthday celebration of keyboardist Ryan Dempsey. The Vermont based quartet delivered inspiring jams for their dedicated fans who arrived hours before the show began. The show included two notable sit ins, as well as accolades from the Brooklyn Bowl’s famous owner, Peter Shapiro.
