Coinciding with Dead & Company’s 2025 Dead Forever residency at Sphere Las Vegas, a special art and photography exhibition celebrating 60 years of the Grateful Dead is now open at Animazing Gallery, located inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort. The exhibit runs through May 17, 2025.
This curated showcase features work from legendary psychedelic artist Stanley Mouse—creator of the Grateful Dead’s iconic skeleton and roses design—as well as celebrated music photographers Jay Blakesberg and Chloe Weir (daughter of Dead guitarist Bob Weir). Archival images from the band’s early years, handpicked by Ricki Blakesberg from Retro Photo Archive, round out the visual journey.

Featured Pieces
Animazing will debut the “Jerry Gnome”, a 27-inch limited-edition bronze statue of Jerry Garcia created by Bay Area sculptor Zim Caroselli—famed for his contributions to the Dead’s Mardi Gras Puppets and Floats in the 1980s and 1990s.
On April 19, the gallery will host a special Bicycle Day celebration honoring the psychedelic movement. All featured artists will be in attendance, and Matthew Rick of Shakedown Gallery will showcase exclusive blotter art.
The exhibit also includes:
-
A life-size sculpture of Jerry Garcia by artist Larry “Rubber” Torro
-
A customized Gibson SG featuring Garcia’s original stage-played humbucker pickup, modified by SF guitar tech Gary Brawer in 2007
“This is a powerful and nostalgic show,” said Nick Leone, owner of Animazing Gallery. “It brings together some of the most visually iconic and culturally impactful Grateful Dead artwork and photography, celebrating a legacy that’s six decades strong.”
