The Rex Foundation is thrilled to announce that Grateful Shred will headline the Annual Benefit event at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco on December 6th, 2025.
Grateful Shred has earned a devoted following for their ability to honor the Grateful Dead songbook while infusing it with a free-spirited surf rock swagger, rich harmonies, and a sense of playfulness that makes every show feel alive and unpredictable. They are not just re-creating the music, but re-imagining it, delivering the kind of joy and spontaneity that keeps audiences coming back for more.
The evening will feature two full sets by Grateful Shred, preceded by a pre-show reception with gourmet food and wine from Silver Oak, Twomey and Winery Sixteen 600, along with a selection of local microbrews. Guests can also participate in a curated silent auction showcasing unique art, rare Grateful Dead memorabilia, and more, giving fans and supporters the chance to own a piece of history while contributing to a worthy cause.
About Grateful Shred
Born in Los Angeles, Grateful Shred quickly rose from parking lot jams to national tours, gaining “Shred-cred” with their viral 2017 Busted at the Bowl video outside the Hollywood Bowl. Known for wide-open guitar tones, effortless harmonies, and joyful improvisation, the band channels the spirit of the Grateful Dead with their own laid-back California vibe.
