Switchman Sleepin’ is celebrating twelve years as a band, and like most things associated with the music of the Grateful Dead, there is no stopping this magical train. The band formed in typical hippie fashion: a few guys jamming at a backyard party in 2012 set the wheels in motion and laid down the first tracks for the evolutionary journey of one of Colorado’s favorite Grateful Dead tribute bands.

Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist Ray Cardwell is the newest addition to the Americana Vibes roster, label of the GRAMMY-award winning progressive bluegrass band The Infamous Stringdusters. Cardwell’s debut album on the label and fourth full-length release of his career, Singing Tree, is produced by Jeremy Garrett of The Infamous Stringdusters and is slated for release on January 31, 2025. The third single “Modern World” is available now continuing the exciting new chapter to Cardwell’s career.

On January 10, 2024 lifelong bluegrass singer and bandleader, Audie Blaylock passed away unexpectedly at his home in Auburn, Indiana at just 61 years old. Blaylock’s final role was lead singer and guitarist with his own band, Redline. On the first anniversary of Blaylock’s passing, a very special song will be released to fans and radio.

Today, the Grateful Guitars Foundation (GGF), a 501(3)(c) nonprofit that obtains world-class musical instruments for talented players who seek to carry on the tradition of jam band music into the 21st century and beyond, has announced that they will gift Dark Star Orchestra’s (DSO) rhythm guitarist Rob Eaton with a custom designed guitar made by GGF Luthier Rich Hoeg. The gift will take place at DSO’s February 8 show at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA.

The second annual Montreux Jazz Festival Miami (February 28-March 2) has announced several exciting additions to its star-studded lineup. NAACP Image Award and BET Award-winner WILLOW, the musician, actress and author celebrated for her boundary-pushing sound, will perform on Friday, February 28, on a bill that includes previously announced Jon Batiste & Friends. On Saturday, March 1, the legendary Chaka Khan, a 10-time GRAMMY Award-winner and the unparalleled "Queen of Funk," will perform.
