After some time off, the long awaited Summer 2012 Disco Biscuits tour is finally here, and over already. It was a very small tour (3 shows plus a festival) that culminated at Camp Bisco this past weekend with a series of talented artists like: Bassnectar, Skrillex, Amon Tobin, and Crystal Castles.

Anyone that knows anything about soul music knows that it’s not a genre or a categorization, but a feeling. Sometimes Rhythm and Blues, Motown, or Funk will all get associated with soul music, but usually isn’t a defining element of a specific sound or mode of playing. DJ Luca Venezia is the New York City-based singer-songwriter and producer. His deep voice resonates throughout the album bringing each sound together into this wonderful collection of songs.

Relaxing, catchy, and a flawless voice—Cosmo Jarvis is just what the doctor prescribed. He has an acoustic sound with vocals kind of like Jack Johnson meets Mat Kearney.The whole album screams, “listen to me! Listen to me!” and it’s hard to really pick your favorite song. The first track, “Love This,” draws you in and makes you listen to the whole album.

Correct Behavior is the second album from Eternal Summers. It has a sort of punk-indie feel to it. Despite the dreamy hip sound, it is laden with electric guitars and spunky sounding vocals. In fact, it’s a bit reminiscent of the 80’s.

Multi-faceted artist Keller Williams is constantly surprising his fan base with a dizzying array of new releases and unique projects. He started his career as a one-man band and has gradually over the years become more of a bandleader, directing such excellent endeavors like The Keller Williams Incident, Keller and the WMDs, Kdubalicious, etc.
For all of you many hardcore bluegrass fans out there, now more than ever is the time to sink your teeth into archival material from your favorite artists. More and more releases keep popping up, both in-studio sessions and live performances. It seems like the bluegrass community values the live-performance aspect of the form, and wants the luster of the instrumentation to be given proper representation.Mr. Del McCoury is a legend among the bluegrass community.
