Only this season, the format of Americana Podcast has evolved to include a video component and some bonus performance footage, to boot—not to mention a venture outside of purely musician-based interviews.

Andy Frasco & The U.N. return with “Life is Easy,” a blisteringly clever, tongue-in-cheek folk protest anthem that tackles everything from consumerism to climate change with a grin. The single—out today—features bluegrass phenom Billy Strings, cosmic country shredder Daniel Donato, Mike Gordon (Phish) and longtime Frasco collaborator Steve Poltz (Jewel, Rugburns), all joining forces on a rollicking, subversive singalong that threads the line between satire and sincerity.

There may be hundreds of folk festivals taking place around the world in a given year, but there’s certainly only one Folks Festival. For 35 years, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival has brought together the world’s favorite songwriters, from all genres, to celebrate what organizers, Planet Bluegrass, like to call “the summit of the song.” Taking place in picturesque Lyons, Colorado, over the weekend of August 8th, 9th, and 10th, this year's iteration will continue that same rich legacy.

The 7th Annual Suwannee Spring Reunion at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida, takes place Thursday through Sunday, March 20-23. This family-friendly music festival includes camping, music workshops, kids activities, arts & crafts, and daily yoga. Nestled amidst 800 acres of majestic Spanish moss-draped oak and cypress trees along the Suwannee River, the weekend will be jam-packed with music rooted in Americana, newgrass, bluegrass, folk, blues, and more.

There are few music festivals with the legacy of the High Sierra Music Festival (HSMF). After more than thirty years, HSMF has truly become far more than the sum of its parts. Sure, there's a ton of world-class music on several stages, parades, activities for kids, crafts and vendors, killer food, and all that. And of course, there's the camping scene, a hippie town that springs up almost overnight on the Plumas County Fairgrounds for the four-day festival around the Fourth of July each year.

About 200 or so smiling faces gathered in the Berkeley Hills (officially the community of Kensington, Calif.) on a beautiful June 15 afternoon for a musical benefit featuring the acoustic David Nelson Band, Steve Poltz, and Ragged Charms (a one-time ensemble featuring Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, three fellows from Hot Buttered Rum, Stephanie Salva, and Wally Ingram).

The High Sierra Music Festival, one of California's longest-running annual music festivals, is celebrating its 32nd year on July 4-7, 2024, in the golden Sierra hills of Quincy. Headliners this year include Ziggy Marley, Primus, and Greensky Bluegrass. They will be joined by a wide variety of bluegrass, jam, Americana, funk, folk, and worldbeat acts on multiple stages at the Plumas County Fairgrounds.
