In celebration of twenty years of business in Boulder, The Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery will be hosting a night of funk at the beautiful Boulder Theater to say thanks to the local community for all of their support.

Music is a ubiquitous part of my life because it has the power to make it better. On countless occasions, it has demonstrated the ability to rejuvenate me when I’m sapped of energy and to will me out of a funk when I’m frustrated or down in the dumps. It even has the power to enliven my spirits for weeks without even yet being heard – anyone who lives for the music knows what it’s like to anticipate a show weeks, or even months, ahead of time.

The Motet had a banner 2013. Among the highlights, the Afro-funk superstars headlined The Fillmore Auditorium for the first time ever and nearly sold out the 3,900-capacity venue.

It was another really cold night in Boulder after night one of an amazing five-night run tradition in the band’s hometown venue, the fabulous Boulder Theater. This band has grown so much in the last decade, and they deserve all the success that they achieve. About fifteen years ago, I was searching for a band to play at my wedding.

One of the most talented groups of musicians currently playing together - THE RINGERS, featuring Jimmy Herring, Wayne Krantz, Michael Landau, Keith Carlock and Etienne Mbappe, first debuted in early 2013 for a very exclusive tour on the east coast.  The tour proved quite fulfilling for the iconic five-some, bringing together their varied backgrounds of Rock, Funk, Jazz, Blues and African styles.Now, this group of super-talent will once again hit the road; celebrating the New Year with a U.S.

Ever noticed how many of the great female singers in the recording business of the past three decades have first names beginning with "A"? There's Aretha Franklin, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, and Adele, not to mention Aaliyah and Alicia Keys. Don't be surprised if the name Andria Simone joins this illustrious "A team" in the near future.

February 7th marks the kickoff of the 8th annual Gem and Jam Festival in Tucson, AZ. The only festival of its kind, the three-day event is set to take place during the pinnacle weekend of the 60thannual Tucson Gem and Mineral show.The event features artists of all types and mediums, and while music is for many the main attraction, there are many elements to Gem & Jam.
