Flaming Lips

The Caverns and The Flaming Lips announce the venerable, pysch-rock band will return to the world-famous, underground concert hall for two nights of shows to ring in the new year on December 30th and 31st presented by Lightning 100.

The Flaming Lips first played The Caverns during the subterranean venue’s inaugural year on New Year’s Eve 2018. Guests who attended the sold out show and those who heard about the exuberant spectacle have long anticipated the band’s return to the cave—the wait is over!

It was that time of year again for the annual Bourbon and Beyond Music Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. This time in a new location, at the Kentucky Exposition Center fairgrounds it was 3 fantastic days of music, food and more!

THE POP ENTHUSIASM OF MISTERWIVES

New York City based MisterWives played an early evening show on Sunday at the Beale Street Music Festival, a day that was a complete sellout.  Lead vocalist Mandy Lee clearly enjoyed playing to the young and enthusiastic crowd, jumping around as she sang .  The band performed most of their best known songs, including "Machine," "Drummer Boy," "Coloring Outside the Lines," and "Reflections."

The potentially rainy day at the nation’s most beautiful outdoor venue made the perfect backdrop to what was about to transpire. The Flaming Lips, with their elaborate stage set up for over one hundred performers, were going to play their entire album entitled The Soft Bulletin with the Colorado Symphony led by conductor Andre de Ritter.

Riot Fest exploded with a bang, and the fast action, hard hitting, rock festival tore it up in the Mile High City. On the grounds of Sports Authority Stadium at Mile High, home of the Denver Broncos, the festival kicked off its first night with its best lineup of the weekend. Taking public transportation was the way to go because there were a lot of people to add to the regular Friday traffic in the city.

“Buy a flower crown, they’re tacky!”

As soon as I heard the guy selling flower crowns charmingly belittling his own product, I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Despite the cool fog that hung over the weekend, taking in the towering eucalyptus trees that encase Golden Gate Park, I felt warm. Back at Outside Lands for my third year, it almost instantly felt like I was home again.

Another year and another successful Bonnaroo adventure can be checked off the list.  It seems like it was just yesterday that I was rocking out to Sir Paul with my parental units at Bonnaroo 2013.  Where does the time go?  With each year I attend this festival, one thing does remain constant, change.  I was in attendance the first few years when Bonnaroo was in its infancy, going just as a fan to see 'The Dead

When the threat of 50 MPH winds and impending heavy rain don't get you down - you know you're in the right place. And for a lot of people, that place was Wakarusa on Friday. Luckily, the 50 MPH winds passed us by, but our day did start off with a pretty heavy amount of rain. We're used to that by now, though.Because of the rain, several shows were cancelled, including a show I was really looking forward to seeing, Rusty Shackle.
