Janiva Magness has returned with her 17th album, Back for Me, produced by her longtime friend, producer, and collaborator Dave Darling. The album is a powerfully engaging, emotionally rich collection from a dynamic artist who continues to renew and redefine her widely celebrated relationship with the blues.

Grammy-nominated and seven-time Blues Music Award winner Janiva Magness returns with her newest single, “I Was Good to You Baby,” ahead of her forthcoming album expected for release in Spring 2025. Written by the late Louisiana musician Dave Egan, “Good to You Baby” is a powerful anthem of heartbreak and resilience, delivered with Magness’s signature blend of raw emotion and refined musicality.

The 24th annual Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Festival will rock over Memorial Day weekend, May 25-26, at Rancho Santa Susanna Community Park, 5005 Los Angeles Ave., in Simi Valley. The festival features two full stages for each of its musical genres.
