Today, the D’Addario Foundation has launched a new initiative called the Immersive Music Challenge, which aims to raise awareness and funds around a groundbreaking new study that finds intensive music mentoring, especially implemented in lower-income schools, is linked to significantly improved reading and math scores; decreased pandemic related anxiety was also observed.

Street Singer Productions has announced their latest film, John Monteleone: The Chisels Are Calling. The feature-length documentary film — directed by Trevor Laurence and produced by Laurence and Woody Mann — is a profile of John Monteleone, one of the world’s greatest guitar builders and a living artist on permanent exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
At one point during his two-plus hour concert on a pristine evening, the last day of summer, Mark Knopfler took some time to banter with the sold-out audience at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. “I love playing here. I’ve played here many times. I have often thought about retiring in recent years,” the 70-year-old former lead guitarist and vocalist of Dire Straits shared with the Los Angeles crowd.
Mark Knopfler is adding a performance at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden on September 25 with special guest Bonnie Raitt to his upcoming North American tour in support of his latest critically acclaimed album, Down the Road Wherever.
