Based in the rustic Kootenay mountains of Western Canada, Nathan Gurley and Sean Rodman of nationally renowned electro-folk duo Moontricks draw inspiration from the ongoing cycles of the natural world. Both volatile and constant—like nature’s best offerings—the band finds solace and beauty in the fusion of seemingly disparate elements.

After releasing a series of singles and performing live all summer, including on several festival stages, Canadian electro-folk duo MOONTRICKS are excited to finally share their debut full-length album Currents, out today (9/9) on Westwood Recordings. With four singles in four months under their belt, Canadian electro-folk duo MOONTRICKS are back today (7/29) with their latest release on Westwood Recordings. A slow burn track, “Animals” infuses a powerfully evocative vocal performance with the boot-stomping spirit responsible for bringing the pair from a local Kootenay act to an internationally recognized fan-favorite.

Canadian roots/electronic duo Moontricks and their friends Dirtwire have teamed up to deliver a unique genre-bending and soulful track, “The Edge,” out today, June 17, via Westwood Recordings. This song is a preview of what’s to come on Moontricks’ forthcoming album Currents due out this September.

Today, March 25, roots/electronic duo Moontricks has released their hypnotizing new single—their first offering in over two years—“Forest Of My Soul” via Westwood Recordings. Moontricks, who is Nathan Gurley and Sean Rodman, captivates as gritty banjo and guitar carry soulful vocals through deep synth drops and dark textures, reminiscent of one losing their way into a forested night.

The 14th Annual Gem and Jam Festival in Tucson, Arizona is the epicenter of the world-renowned Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase, while also a staple in the jam and electronic music festival stratosphere. The scenic desert landscape fabricates a full-on bazaar-of-sorts, pushing past the boundaries of a typical music festival and perfectly coalescing the worlds of workshops, performers, visual artists and installations.
