The new album has 14 songs and full of collaborations, including multiple songs co-written and produced with Brian Fennell (Ryan Tedder, One Republic, The Fray, Third Eye Blind), as well as guest appearances by Grammy-nominees J Boog and Eric Rachmany (Rebelution), Jamaican dancehall superstar Busy Signal, and island music veterans Fiji and The Mana’o Company. Also, the new album features the band’s first female vocalist as the main harmony, Riya Davis, you can hear her harmonies on the tracks “Foolish Love” and “You’ve Been Crying."

The 9th annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival has announced their second round of artists. Joining an already impressive lineup is the Grammy nominees Rebelution, Hawaiian reggae ambassadors The Green, singer/songwriter Trevor Hall, Cali Roots favorite Fortunate Youth, island soulstress Anuhea, and alternative reggae band The Movement. Making his Cali Roots debut performance is underground hip hop hero Brother Ali, fresh from his critically-acclaimed album All The Beauty In This Whole Life.
Latin GRAMMY Award-winning engineer, producer, and musician Victor Rice is gearing up to release his first solo album in almost 15 years. The subtly-complex elegance of Smoke provides a rich smoothness made available through tastemaker label Easy Star Records on November 3rd. Smoke takes Rice’s knowledge from experience across a realm of genres and cultures and rolls it all into a consistent line of thought, resulting in a fusion Rice identifies as “samba rocksteady,” or SRS.

Jah Sun is back from his Summer European tour performing in front of sold-out shows. Jah states from the tour, “one of the highlights for me was when a fan approached security in tears asking to meet me. He told me how he was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment. After two years he beat it and is cancer free. He said my music especially the song “Never Give Up” was inspirational to him.
The 14th annual Emerald Cup proudly announces its phase one artist announcement. The Emerald Cup will take place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA from December 9-10, 2017. This year’s impressive lineup already brings the legendary Roots, Gramatik, Hieroglyphics, Pimps of Joytime, Chali 2NA with another wave of artists to be announced.

Crowd Company, the critically acclaimed 8-piece funk soul outfit, has confirmed details on their upcoming album Stone & Sky, due out October 20th on the newly minted indie imprint Vintage League Music (VLM), founded by Soulive’s Alan Evans. The eleven-track album is also produced by Evans at the infamous Iron Wax Studio in Millers Falls, MA and will be available on vinyl, CD, and digitally. Three 7-inch vinyl singles will also be released featuring songs from the upcoming album and distributed by Fat Beats.
