Born out of a collective of musicians & creatives from Kingston-Upon-Hull, Young Jack are a UK funk phenomenon ready to stand up & tell the world how to get down. With their latest Double A-Side single Move / Mojo, released on fiercely independent Hull label Warren Records, this family of funk ambassadors dish out spiritual rhythms & groovy vibes, topped off with the organic sounds of Paolo Nutini’s Horns of Thunder.

Having recorded sessions for BBC Humberside Introducing & performed at Kendal Calling, Humber Street Sesh & Hull’s Freedom Festival, Young Jack have also received a stamp of approval from the godfather funk himself George Clinton. They live and breathe their music in the here and now with a body of work that truly encapsulate the spirit of the funk genre and its cultural footprint.

First up on this latest offering is the track Move. Although distinctly British, it contains flavours reminiscent of Parliament / Funkadelic & Miles Davis’s On The Corner period. Lyrically its described by lead vocalist Luke Bowe as “a song about our frustration with the confusing times we’re living in and how people can be the holders of their own fortune by letting go of all that’s holding them back – change the way you think now, move…

Other track Mojo continues in the same vein musically but with touches of Rick James in its vocal delivery. It’s a song about elevating the senses & reconnecting with the fun side of funk. There are underlying themes of addiction and “the monkey on your back” inspired by seeing their friends and family crumble when their social structure isn’t running smoothly but Young Jack believe their songwriting should be open to individual interpretation by the listener - take what you like and leave the rest.

Young Jack are Luke Bowe (lead vocals/guitar), Danny Higgins (guitar/vocals), Ben Morrod (Bass) & Jack Allbones (Drums) along with The Horny Brass (aka Paolo Nutini’s Horns of Thunder). Born of Irish & America roots, Luke & Danny grew up together making music in Danny’s room, with a huge canvas of Bob Marley looking over them & getting inspired by a wide range of artists from Funkadelic & The Brothers Johnson to Carole King & Kraftwork. At 14 they bought fake IDs & soon found themselves getting down to Prince in the mosh-pit when he played Leeds. Enter Warren Records’ Stew Baxter (also the drummer in Life) & things start to take shape with Young Jack rehearsing at the back of legendary Hull venue The Adelphi.  Meanwhile, local graffiti pioneer Pinkie, who back in the day was interviewed by indie soothsayer John Peel no less, was creating Young Jack’s visual representation with his vibrant imagery.

Check out the band’s website for gig listings, latest news pieces & signup to the mailing list - but hold on tight cause it’s gonna get funky!

Legendary heavy metal vocalist DEE SNIDER recently announced his steadfast support of the people of Ukraine using Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" as their battle cry anthem, and within just days, became heavily involved at the forefront of World United Live. The platform operates with the goal of raising awareness that may otherwise be shielded from the Russian people, to digitally, simultaneously protest in support of Ukraine, and to eventually coordinate the world's largest aid concert to help them rebuild.

Today, in support of World United Live's initiatives and the people of Ukraine, DEE SNIDER released a brand new, re-worked music video for his Leave A Scar track "Stand", specially renamed "Stand (with Ukraine)". The video, featuring various pieces of current sourced footage, can be viewed here via www.worldunited.live/stand-with-ukraine.

DEE SNIDER tells the story in his own words: "About a month ago, someone on social media told me people in Ukraine were using Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" as a battle cry and asked if I was cool with it. Of course I was. My response elicited someone asking me why I was okay with Ukrainians using my song and not some other groups. I won't repeat my exact response (it was a bit political), but that tweet went internationally viral. Every news agency in the world suddenly wanted to talk to me.

At that very moment, some great people (who were all friends of mine) were hatching the idea for World United Live and asked me if I would spearhead the organization. How could I say no? Since then, we have been beating the drum for the free world to come together, not only in support of Ukraine and condemnation of Putin, but in sending a message to the Russian people that they are misinformed and not being told the truth. Now, with the help of the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and many others, we are doing just that!

About a week ago, it hit me that the song "Stand" from my last Napalm Records album, Leave a Scar, fit the crisis in Ukraine perfectly... but I had already released a video for "Stand" recently. Yet I just couldn't get around how well the lyrics resonated with Putin's attack on these innocent people. Ukraine was the furthest thing from my mind when I wrote the words for that song, yet it was like I had done just that. So, I had a couple of incredibly talented people (Scott Pitek and Steve Sage Goldberg) cut together a new video using some live concert footage and news clips. The result is devastating. Please watch and share "Stand (With Ukraine)" and join us at www.worldunited.live. Help save the world. Together we can."

The message of World United Live can be supported by sharing, liking and following their pages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Closing a seven-year gap since their latest studio album, Moksha, today, heavy hypnotic rock act MY SLEEPING KARMA celebrates their brand new album, entitled Atma, which is out now on Napalm Records.

From the album’s first tone, it’s immediately evident that Atma isn’t just another new MY SLEEPING KARMA record – it’s an infinite darkness, despair and sadness that furiously drives the German four-piece on studio album number six, marking the band’s darkest, most emotional and deep record to date.

In celebration of today’s release, MY SLEEPING KARMA have shared a new music video for the otherworldly single 'Avatara’, which shines in synth post-rock grandeur that bridges majestic, exotic texture and mesmerizing dynamics!

Drummer Steffen states: "As many other sanskrit words Avatara has also several corresponding meanings. Avatara means the descent, the coming down, like the appearance itself. But it could also be used to describe an opportunity or the coming to light. In this sense Avatara is the perfect word to reveal our new album "Atma" and bring this finally to light."

Watch the new MY SLEEPING KARMA video for 'Avatara' HERE:

As many artists have experienced, the past two years hit the entire music and culture industry hard. But MY SLEEPING KARMA – they have truly faced the abyss. Formed almost 20 years ago as a strong bond of best friends with a steady line-up ever since, the band has amassed an incredibly successful back catalogue of five highly acclaimed records and a live album in 2017, as well as extensive touring performances at sold-out venues and prestigious festivals that have marked them as one of the most well-respected instrumental post- and hypnotic rock bands within the heavy music community.

Atma describes the (absolute) self, the indestructible, eternal essence of the spirit, and is often translated as the "soul". Sickness, death, and existential fear had brought the band to a point in music and life at which they were close to parting ways. But their will to survive has been recorded on Atma – a record the band wasn’t even sure would see the light of day when they started working on it back in 2017, and if it did, would’ve never been for industry sales, fame or success. Atma tells the story of their lives, processing the trauma of personal tragedies, deepest pain and fear of four best friends that have been going through their darkest days since their band existence.

"We already started working on the video content back in 2018. The world is full of hate, envy, fear and greed and it seems the competition never stops,” the band comments.

"Society is becoming more and more lost in a dog eat dog jungle, and back then we would have never thought that in 2022, it would be even worse. Besides the latest pandemic or the Russian/Ukrainian war, so many individuals are facing massive conflicts on a daily basis.

In the end, there´s always hope that the world will become better again, once mankind understands. Love is the key and peace starts inside of everyone. The video track ‘Prema’ tells that story and the entire album is all about this. "Atma" goes out with love to our dear families, friends and fans. Thanks for supporting us over the years and especially in the latest dark times.”

Atma was produced, recorded and mixed by drummer Steffen Weigand at New Life Studios, and was mastered by Andreas Balaskas at Masterlab Studios in Berlin. The incredible album artwork has been created by Sebastian Jerke.

JUNO award-winning, powerhouse rock outfit Crown Lands are eager to embark on their most impactful US tour to date. The duo of Cody Bowles (vocals, drums) and Kevin Comeau (guitar, bass, keys) will join the 2022 'Dreams In Gold' arena tour, supporting the one and only Greta Van Fleet! Crown Lands will begin their run on the tour on October 18 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Commenting on these upcoming shows, Cody & Kevin share:

"We’re very much looking forward to playing in the US again! It’s been years. We’ve missed the culture, the interstates, and the people. It’s an honour to be opening up for Greta Van Fleet. They opened the door for rock music to penetrate the mainstream in our generation. It feels like a natural fit. So many fans have called for us to tour together for years. It feels good to be making it happen!"

The Canadian prog-rockers go on to address making their return to the states this year, saying:

"Touring the USA right now is one of the hardest things a band can do. It has become absurdly expensive when you factor in fuel, hotels, Van maintenance, crew wages, work permit costs (trust me this is a big one). Not to mention the risk of covid and other illnesses when playing to arenas full of people. It’s a beautiful and risky endeavour. All of this, plus 8-hour drives each day to get on stage for a half hour. That time on stage is why we do it. We believe it’s worth it. We are a live band. It’s in our blood. This is why we do it! See you on the road."
