Julien's Auctions, the world’s premier music and entertainment memorabilia auction house along with Hard Rock Cafe New York has announced a rare exhibit including remarkable music memorabilia to display for press TODAY, Monday, May 13, 2013 from 11 am – 5 pm and Tuesday, and May 14, 2013 from 11 am – 5 pm. The Les Paul Foundation continues to change the face of music through various grants awarded to organizations around the country. The foundation's support of Guitars for Vets, a program headquartered in Milwaukee, helps in supporting veterans who graduate from its programs obtain guitars. Throughout his life Les Paul was an innovator who invented multi-track recording and the solid body electric guitar. The producers of the SOLD OUT Official “100th Anniversary of Les Paul,” musical event announced an additional limited quantity of more tickets to go on sale today, Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. EST via ticketweb.com. Due to the high demand and pleas from Les Paul fans for tickets, The Les Paul Foundation was able to offer a limited amount of more tickets to the event for sale. Once the tickets offered today are gone there will not be any more available.  Fans of Les Paul will have the opportunity to rub elbows with some of the most famous names in music at the official kick-off event to be held at Hard Rock Cafe New York. Music icons including Joe Bonamassa, Warren Haynes, Steve Miller, Joe Satriani, Journey’s Neal Schon, Steve Vai, guitar virtuoso Johnny A, Count’s 77 and Lou Pallo and the Les Paul Trio will appear at the event. Ken Dashow from Q104 will emcee and stars of rock n’ roll will also attend. Ticketed guests will also have the opportunity to visit Les Paul’s Big Sound Experience, a 53’ interactive state-of-the-art journey through music with Les Paul that will be parked for the day in Times Square. Red carpet begins at 6:00 p.m. EST and the show will begin at 8:00 p.m.

The event, which will benefit the Les Paul Foundation, has limited capacity and ticket holders will get to experience a historical musical event of epic proportions.

Les Paul was the father of the solid body electric guitar - the inventor of multitrack recording, overdubbing (also known as sound on sound), delay effects, electronic echo and many other recording innovations that today’s recording artists use every day. Musicians from every genre have credited Les Paul for their careers. Numerous museum exhibits and awards continue to celebrate the innovations and accomplishments of Les Paul.

The Hard Rock Cafe New York has also created a limited edition collectible pin honoring Les Paul.  The replica pin is of the guitar pick Les Paul designed and handmade using sand paper for a better grip. The oversized pick pin will be sold at the New York retail location exclusively. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the pins will benefit The Les Paul Foundation.

Guests of the June 9th special event will be the first to see videos from some of rock n’ roll’s  most famous faces including  Slash, Sammy Hagar, HEART’s Nancy Wilson, Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir, Richie Sambora and other friends of Les Paul.  

The official 100th Birthday Celebration of Les Paul will be one of the most historical moments in music history. The Les Paul 100th Anniversary year officially kicked off in Times Square New York on Tuesday, June 9th, 2015. This is the same day the late, great Les Paul would have turned 100 years old. The day long festivities closed out the night with a star-studded red carpet and a musical celebration that brought together some of the world’s most legendary guitarists and musicians all on one stage to pay homage to Les Paul, the innovator, inventor, musician and legend.

The Les Paul Foundation, whose mission includes honoring and sharing the life, spirit and legacy of Les Paul has announced “Les Paul Thru the Lens,” an exclusive traveling gallery of photos highlighting the life and career of Les Paul, the inventor, musician and icon.

The Les Paul Thru the Lens exhibit features twenty-four gallery matted and framed black and white photographs chronicling Les’ life from a small child to his later career. It includes rare personal family photos, Les behind-the-scenes, famous musicians and photos of the man with a larger than life sense of humor and an amazing curiosity for innovation. Guests of the exhibits can follow along while viewing each photograph on the web-initiated storylines for each rare image. From Les’ time inventing in his famous Hollywood garage studio to his popular Reality TV show and appearances with Mary Ford, the exhibit provides fans with the opportunity to see Les like never before.

Les Paul Thru the Lens will kick off on March 14th at the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York. From there it will travel across the country and back East later in the year. The 2022 schedule is as follows:

March 14-20, 2022  - Esther Massry Gallery located at Massry Center for the Arts at the College of Saint Rose, 1002 Madison Avenue in Albany, New York. The exhibit is free and open to the public from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. daily. (https://www.strose.edu/.../esther-massry-gallery)

April 1-June 1, 2022 – Museum of Making Music located at 5790 Armada Drive in Carlsbad, California. The exhibit will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and the exhibit is part of regular admission to the museum. (https://www.museumofmakingmusic.org)

June 3-5, 2022 – NAMM, National Association of Musical Instrument Manufacturers annual convention held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The exhibit will be open to all attendees and registered guests for the duration of the convention during regular hours and will be held inside the Member Center.

July 1- September 30, 2022 – Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum located at 401 Gay Street in Nashville, Tennessee. The exhibit will be held in the museum’s main lobby and entry is included in the museum’s regular admission. The hours are Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m. (www.musicianshalloffame.com).

November 1, 2022 – December 20, 2022 – STAX Museum of American Soul Music located at 926 East McLemore in Memphis, Tennessee. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and the exhibit is included to the regular museum admission. (https://staxmuseum.com)
